The Hotel is situated on a street at the river’s shore. I had a very nice view down to the water and the other side of the city. Room was very clean, nicely furnished but in a simple and basic style. Nice bathroom with tub. Lobby was huge, had nice souvenir shops, cafes and bars.

New, clean, quiet,nicely decorated hotel, spacious comfortable room. Can enjoy the nice river view sitting in the lobby. The staff both female and male are very kind to help me carried my big luggage upstairs and downstairs. (My size is small comparable to the luggage 28 in.)Many thanks for them..Good value of money. So, I decided to stay again after I came back from the circum Baikal railway trip.

Arrived about 2 hours before check in time and it was not an issue to receive the room, on top of it I received unexpectedly a free upgrade to a suite. Very nice from them! Felt really welcomed.

The location is most convenient, with a big supermarket just next to the hotel. Irkutsk is the best place to enjoy the magnificent Lake Baikal. I was traveling on board the Trans-Siberian Railway. It took an hr & a half for the train to pass along the shore of the lake. Reflections of the mountains on the lake are comparable to(or even more spectacular than)the western coast of Norway where whole villages are reflected on the fjords.

This is my third stay at this excellent hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is always someone who can speak English available. There are two restaurants, a Chinese one and a Russian one. I have always had dinner at the Russian restaurant and the food has always been good. There is often an excellent singer at the restaurant too. This hotel is an absolute favourite of mine.

Zvezda Hotel
