One of the best places we stayed in Sri Lanka. The room was so big, cleaned everyday and comfortable. The location was perfect, only 10 minute walk to the beach and restaurants. The staff were very welcoming and helped with all our requests. We initially booked for 2 nights at L&D, but we loved it that much that we extended our stay here for an extra 2 nights. It’s 100% a must stay for those wanting to visit Hikkaduwa and have a relaxing stay. Big thanks again to Ranga for a fabulous end to our trip.

It’s a lovely little hotel set away from the Main Street so it’s quiet to sleep. We had a quad room but unfortunately the air con was placed over one bed but not the other so we had 2 that were freezing and 2 that were boiling in the night. Breakfast was toast, butter, jam, choice of egg (boiled, omelette or fried) and sausage.

We had an amazing time, I think this was my favourite hotel for our entire stay in Sri Lanka. The location is perfect, right near a mostly empty beach with waves that any surfer would crave. The building itself is elegantly decorated with tasteful artwork and some unique furniture pieces. The pool looking ofer the beach and the lush orchid backyard made it a fantastic way to relax and enjoy our time. Room was clean and the bed was wide and comfortable. I just loved the relaxed vibe of the place. The beach restaurant across the street which shares the same owner was a treat for us as well.

We had a nice stay at Unawatuna Beach Bungalow. Host is very nice and helpful. Room was big enough with comfy bed and wardrobe. There was a fridge and a kettle. Mosquito net was very clean. The terrace and the view on the garden are very relaxing and provides a wonderful shadow. Breakfasts were homemade, continental with local fruits, tasty. Location - close to the beach and not far away from the main and comercial streets. Highly recommended if you like quiet place.

This hotel is reasonably priced. The room was big & very comfy bed. Nice & clean bathroom. Not big, but enjoyable clean pool. Tasty Sri Lankan food. Loved that there is a separate big balcony to each room, with a view 🏝 Beach was lovely without any pollution. All the members of staff were very polite & friendly.

First of all, if you are unsure if this is the right place for you, stop and book now!!! Even if you are not staying at this hotel, go to this restaurant!!! Let's start from the beginning. This is a tiny resort located right on the beach. You see the Ocean from your bungalow (ca. 50 metres from the room door to the beach). The place is very good for swimming (we stayed in September, water was rather flat). The restaurant is located directly on the beach, with easy access, so you can eat and watch the Ocean. Even with few guests, the restaurant was open every day until late evening and serving fantastic food - this was the best food we ate in Sri Lanka during our over-two-week stay! The restaurant prices were also reasonable. The rooms were quitr basic, but spacious, clean and equipped with mosquito nets and A/C. Our host, Briya, spoke perfect English, which was very nice. Her kitchen is amazing and we really recomend it! It is THE perfect place for relaxing on the beach!

Esha Beach Resort

If you want to watch wild birds and animals right out of your window (pelicans, wild pigs with babies, squirrels, varans, lots of huge beautiful birds) come here! Swimming pool is perfectly clean and is with view to lagoon with birds, and everything is clean and new, owner takes care of place really carefully, is very helpful. When you come to Negombo you understand its a dirty hole with millions of people, Nico Lagoon is just the opposite! You listen to music and make your own party on swimmingpool. Totally recommend!

Everything was perfect. Room was big enough and very clean! Room cleaning was daily, thanks for that! The breakfast was good too! Very nice and helpful owner of the villa and his staff! We were with a child and we had a very late flight and the owner allowed us to use the room longer, because of this we had a great long day at the beautiful beach and the opportunity to wash ourselves before a long flight. If I go to Sri-Lanka again, I would definitely stay at this villa.

It is a peaceful area with the nicest and loneliest beach we have seen during our trip to Sri Lanka. Don and his wife are so friendly hosts. Don took us to Unawalawe national park so we could do an amazing safari. Furthermore he organized a boat for seeing birds at the lagune. The rooms are very new as Don opened them last year. Breakfast was delicous. Bed was verycomfortable. All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot. Thank you very much Don!

The Bluewater Beach Resort gave us relaxing stay in Trinco. The resort was clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location was close to the beach. Excellent accommodation - one of the nicest places we stayed in Sri Lanka. We were in one of the newer apartments which was nicely finished. Good kitchen with everything you'd need. Stunning pool which was very clean and lovely for a dip in the middle of the day when it was hot. Walking distance to the beach and there are some lovely restaurants around the corner. Sumi couldn't have been more helpful with local information and making sure we had everything we needed. Great air conditioning in the room and comfortable bed. Lovely balcony to sit out on and beautifully kept gardens.

The location of the accommodation is perfect. A quiet place full of nature wherever you look. Very close to the main street. Very spacious and clean room, it has the basic things that you need. The bed was very comfortable. We had to work during our stay and the wifi worked very well The employees are lovely, very nice and, if you need anything, they help you without problem. The breakfasts are very good and it have a good quantity. A fully recommended accommodation to spend a few days or a long season in Unawatuna.

One of the things that makes your holiday an experience to remember is the first interaction you have with the local people and that happens to be at the hotel/ home stays where you check in. Villa Dineha surely knows how to make you feel at home. It was a wonderful stay. Janaka and his team are simply superb in their hospitality and it’s genuine. Room size, breakfast, tips on how to get around. Arranging diving experiences / airport pick ups. It was all handled very well. Am definitely coming back and I recommend this place hands down for enjoying your time in hikkaduwa.

We stayed here for our last 2 nights in Sri Lanka and wish it could have been longer. Beautiful location in a quiet area and Irosh was such a kind host who went out of his way to show us some hidden treasures nearby and tell us lots of information. Absolutely delicious breakfast in the morning outside while being able to hear the nature and see the birds and squirrels (some monkeys hiding in the trees). Very clean room and comfortable bed (good pillows!) and laundry facilities available. Fantastic value for money. Close to the beautiful lagoon which you can get a special boat ride to visit the temple, but also a short tuk tuk distance away to beach, wide select of restaurants which Irosh can recommend etc. One of our most memorable stays in Sri Lanka! trip :) Thanks Irosh!

I was almost in Trincomalee when I had to book Hilton Cottage since the hotel room which I had booked wasn't available. Fortunately my booking was comfortable & easy at Hilton Cottage. I went to the place right after I booked it and the room was ready which I must say. We were given a spacious room with a Double bed a single bed both. You will find the most cleaned bathroom in here. Place was very easy to find and plenty of restaurants are in the neighborhood. There was no kettle in room and that was not a problem because they supplied hot water whenever we asked. We loved the place. It was a comfortable and a lovely stay 💕

Hilton Cottage

Everything was perfect. And What a lovely host!!!! What a generous heart, he helped us when we had trouble an accident and had to go to the hospital. He drove us to Galle and was there for us. The hotel is super lovely amazing view directly at the ocean. Very cozy and comfortable. All in all on of the best hotel I've ever been inside. At night you hear the sound of the ocean.

Great Value for money, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was really nice, fresh fruits, toast, eggs and also Sri Lankan breakfast available. They also did some laundry for us and it was very quick and a great price. The pool area/breakfast area is nice with trees and plants all around, very private.

Where do i start?! What a fantastic hotel, i couldnt fault it in any way, Sanjeewa the owner couldnt do enough for us, always checking that our room was ok. He and his family put on a lovely sri lankan buffet breakfast every morning, they give you fresh smoothies, and theres so much food! The pool was lovely, and the gardens surrounding it is beautiful. Very Clean and modern House, almost Like a small Villa with balcony, a Garden and a Pool. The owner ist a very lovely, Kind Lady who helps you with anything you might Need. She makes you breakfast also! The House ist located in a quiet neighbourhood, you only hear the birds. There are Lots of animals around the House to watch :) beach (the golden Mile) is in Walking distance and the next Supermarkt also.

I could write a few pages about Villa Modara. The hosts and employee are simply lovely, generous, friendly, interesting and welcoming. The location was perfect; close to a bird sanctuary that I didn’t visited as there was plenty of birds and wildlife around the property (sunrise and sunset was overwhelming with bird singing and seeing). Also close to a secluded beach with very few tourists if none. The guesthouse it self is so beautiful; architecture and decor. Paradisio!

We discovered this hotel a bit by chance and it was a real masterpiece for us. Stay 20 nights in the same hotel, be sure not to be wrong ... And it was just PERFECT !!! The team is great, available, smiling, considerate. The rooms are clean, regularly maintained and silence is present. The hotel is located 300m from the main road, which allows you to be close to everything, but at the same time, away from noise ... The pool is great and we could enjoy our vacation! We are seriously considering going back in December for several more weeks ... Go there with your eyes closed !!!

Very nice location close to the river and peaceful and quite area, so you can enjoy night sounds and morning sounds from temple nearby. Lal is super friendly and helpful - met us with cold towel and glass of fresh juice. Room is super clean with nice view to the garden, AC is available all time. Also is very cool small private kitchen so you can without problem cook and have coffe/ tea anytime . He allowed even stay longer and wait for our transfer to Kandy! Thank you so much!❤️ I enjoyed my staying here and 100% recommend that place for everyone who travel here!

This a brand new hotel, it opened just a few months ago.Very clean and comfy rooms and awesome swimingpool. The place is managed by a French/Sri Lanka couple. We had very good contact with the French lady who manages the hotel. Helped us with everything, good tips for trips, got the feeling that you visit friends. Absolutely the best place in the beach area of Trincomalee.

Everything was perfect. The house is beautiful and clean, the beds are confy and the kitchen quite well equipped. The lady is very nice, even did our laundry 🤗. Thanks again. Silent beach is 100m, beautiful beach, but there were big waves and the children could not go inside the water all alone. We preferred Tuk- tuk bay, which is also close - 10 min walking distance- which is calm and shallow. Did some snorkelling, even saw turtles. Really beautiful place, would have stayed longer.
