Staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. Room was spacious and comfortable, with balcony/terrace and beautiful view on the Indian ocean. The best for me was to listen to the natural ocean sound while sleeping. Another positive was location, it was excellent, a bit away from the Unawatuna street busy with restaurants, cafes and beach bars/ parties but close enough by tuk tuk (3km) to enjoy if wanted. Overall, highly recommended.

It was absolutely perfect stay! We've been there during summer-2021 season while tourism was still almost dead due to the covid-19 restrictions. We've been alone in the hotel and on the beach, but whole hotel infrastructure was opened for us. Mr.Bandara was pleasant and helping and super professional host, that helped us even after we moved away from the hotel (we had some problems in Negombo trying to stay in another hotel before our flight home). Hotel is situated in 1 minute from the beach, rooms are clean and spacious, territory of the hotel is green and nice. million thanks to Mr. Bandara and cheif of the restaurant for my perfect vacations.

It is a peaceful area with the nicest and loneliest beach we have seen during our trip to Sri Lanka. Don and his wife are so friendly hosts. Don took us to Unawalawe national park so we could do an amazing safari. Furthermore he organized a boat for seeing birds at the lagune. The rooms are very new as Don opened them last year. Breakfast was delicous. Bed was verycomfortable. All in all we enjoyed our stay a lot. Thank you very much Don!

The staff are fabulously friendly and welcoming without ever being anyway invasive. The rooms are a dream , really big, modern with a very comfy bed, the pool is gorgeous, WiFI works everywhere- even at the beach ! and it is fast- really fast !!. Communication with the owners was easy, they tried to help in any way ! It’s a wonderful place and don’t forget to order the seafood platter, it is a dream ! They also offer good wines at very reasonalble prices....we will return next year for a longer stay , for sure ! Unbeatable value for money....

The hotel is located in Tangalle area, the ocean is beautiful with amazing sunsets and long walks. The room was very clean and nice. The lagoon nearby is great for observing wild life of Sri Lanka. The staff was very helpful, providing us transfer, meal services. The hotel has got yoga terrace, which is available throughout the day for practice and free yoga lessons in the morning.

The staff was so nice! They let us in the room very early in the morning for no additional fee. Jaika helped a lot through the covid procedures which was super appreciated. The restaurant staff prepared breakfast for us even though we completely missed the time slot (difficult jetlag 😅). The gardener was always super quick to prepare the sunbeds for us when we would come out of the room. Also beautiful sunset from the swimming pool/beach!

We spent one night and two days at Maresia Beach Villa. It was a family trip, and we had a really excellent time. We were so well taken care of. The staff really deserve a special note of thanks, they were exceptional. The Sri Lankan food we were served was delicious! I recommend the Sri Lankan food at Maresia over the other things we ordered. The staff were warm, helpful, and accommodated all of our requests. We had two small children, and the place is more than suitable for couples of families with kids.

I could write a few pages about Villa Modara. The hosts and employee are simply lovely, generous, friendly, interesting and welcoming. The location was perfect; close to a bird sanctuary that I didn’t visited as there was plenty of birds and wildlife around the property (sunrise and sunset was overwhelming with bird singing and seeing). Also close to a secluded beach with very few tourists if none. The guesthouse it self is so beautiful; architecture and decor. Paradisio!

Everything. Food was delicious and well priced. Villas were amazing. Couldn’t fault them. Spacious, cool, and clean. The beds were comfy and so was the bench couch. They had movie night every night on the open terrace rooftop if you wanted to sit and watch with a cocktail, or even food! Right on the beach and with the minimal number of villas, 5 I think it was, it was peaceful and relaxing, with not too much noise. Tania and her staff are lovely and very attentive. Happy to organise anything to make your stay as relaxing and carefree as possible. Definitely recommend to anyone going or if we should go back again!

First of all, if you are unsure if this is the right place for you, stop and book now!!! Even if you are not staying at this hotel, go to this restaurant!!! Let's start from the beginning. This is a tiny resort located right on the beach. You see the Ocean from your bungalow (ca. 50 metres from the room door to the beach). The place is very good for swimming (we stayed in September, water was rather flat). The restaurant is located directly on the beach, with easy access, so you can eat and watch the Ocean. Even with few guests, the restaurant was open every day until late evening and serving fantastic food - this was the best food we ate in Sri Lanka during our over-two-week stay! The restaurant prices were also reasonable. The rooms were quitr basic, but spacious, clean and equipped with mosquito nets and A/C. Our host, Briya, spoke perfect English, which was very nice. Her kitchen is amazing and we really recomend it! It is THE perfect place for relaxing on the beach!

Esha Beach Resort

The breakfast was amazing and they kindly prepared a diner that was waiting for us in our room. The driving to reach the place is not easy but you should not stop to this aspect to book a room there!

Face masks must be warn in the dining area. Bedrooms sterilized. The staff were wonderful. Super attentive. Couldn’t do anymore. We had a lovely room, beach front, ocean views. From the time we arrived at this wonderful destination we were greeted with broad smiles and warm welcomes. We spent 17 days at this hotel. We were overwhelmed with the level of care and dedication shown to us from the manager Mr Anthony Ferdinand, reception staff, bar staff, restaurant staff, chiefs, housekeeping staff, and pool staff. It is a hotel that is very well managed, and meets all the requirements of visitors to Sri Lanka. Thank you for making our holiday memorable.

We booked this villa with no reviews and were slightly skeptical as to whether or not this place was going to offer what it promised. Upon arrival, we were absolutely blown away by the beautiful architecture and furniture that filled this modern and seamless villa. We were greeted by the friendly staff with smoothies and a refreshing cold flannel, whereupon they set up our room and informed us of our lovely upgrade to the master suite. Due to the recent opening of the villa, word hadn’t quite got out about this place and we were incredibly lucky to have the place to ourselves for three nights. It was a beautiful and serene place to spend our holiday, waited on hand and foot, trips and taxis organised for us, and some of the most delicious seafood we had ever had. Breakfast was included and lunch and dinner cost approx £7 each plate. We bought our own spirits as they were unable to provide these but they made these up for us whenever we wanted. Cheap beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea were all available for purchase. The rooms were spacious and cleaned twice daily. The beds were extremely comfy + they had mosquito nets. The views are breathtaking and it only takes 30 seconds to walk to the beautiful and (barely) untouched beach. There isn’t much else around within walking distance, (which we loved) so taxis are really the only way to get around. I would like to emphasise how attentive, professional and friendly the staff were, nothing was too much trouble and they really did go above and beyond what we would expect from staff. We shall be coming back next year with a party of 12, so we can have the villa again to ourselves! Thanks, James & Ruby

We are there with a kid for 7 days and we can only recommend this peacefull hotel on the beach. 2hr in car from the airport. Hotel was very nice and clean. Staff was very kind and nice and helped us with every request we had.Clean pool, very good food and rich western breakfast. Excellent service. Beach was big and we were there nearly alone.

Everything was perfect. And What a lovely host!!!! What a generous heart, he helped us when we had trouble an accident and had to go to the hospital. He drove us to Galle and was there for us. The hotel is super lovely amazing view directly at the ocean. Very cozy and comfortable. All in all on of the best hotel I've ever been inside. At night you hear the sound of the ocean.

The breakfast were good, the staff were lovely, the pool was great, you walk straight out onto the beach but can't swim in it because there are too many big waves here, you have to go to a different part of the beach to swim, even then very big waves big waves. There are three or four beach restaurants within a few minutes walk which is nice and if you walk back along the beach or road for about 15 minutes you start to reach the slightly busier part of the beach with a few more places to eat and drink.

The location is amazing, by the most beautiful, endless beaches and wonderful lagoon. The pool is peaceful and there's plenty of space to chill. The restaurant offered good choice and fair value given that there were few outside options. Peaceful location within a 10 min tuk tuk ride from tangalle.

Staff really work hard to make your stay special. Really extensive breakfast of fruit, juice, toast with butter cheese or jam, followed by bacon and eggs as you please. The hotel it 4 km from the town centre and the river, but staff are always on hand to give you a tuk tuk ride to wherever you wish to go at very reasonable rates. £1 each way into town. However, the restaurant good is so good that we ate in every night for our four night stay. Alcoholic drinks are a reasonable price also. Beautiful well kept garden and large swimming pool with sunbeds with mattresses. We loved it here, and preferred a small hotel to the large characterless options on Paradise Island up the road. A real Sri Lankan experience.
