A totally unique experience for those with a sense of fun and you really can't beat it for location. The staff were super friendly, I know Berlin so didn't need much help but they'd have been happy to help if I had, and were more than willing to chat and make sure I had everything I needed.

Eastern & Western Comfort Hotelboat

Moored on the River Spree in the heart of Berlin, 2 boats make up this charming hostel. Eastern & Western Comfort Hostelboat sits amid the vibrant Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg districts, just 11 m from the remains of the Berlin Wall. The Eastern Comfort Hostel Boat features cozy cabin rooms with their own bathrooms and a spacious deck area with great views of the Oberbaum Bridge. The Western Comfort Hostel Boat features budget cabins with shared bathrooms. It features a roof terrace, a part of which is reserved for guests sleeping in tents. Bed linen and towels are provided for all guests. (Guests must make the beds themselves). Guests can enjoy a drink on the Floating Lounge's deck in the summer, or next to the fireplace in winter. Central heating allows guests to stay on board all around the year. The main reception, breakfast room and lounge are located on the Eastern Comfort boat. A rich breakfast buffet is provided daily for an additional fee. There is also a language party every Wednesday, which is free for hostel guests. Friedrichshain offers many bars and clubs, located within walking distance of the Eastern Comfort Hostel. Warschauer Straße S-Bahn (city rail) station is just a 10-minute walk from the hostel.

From the moment you walk in you are amazed with the style and facilities. The location is perfect, right outside the metro, busses etc! It won’t be difficult to find it and move around the city. For us was perfect because outside was so cold and it was our first time in Berlin to stay for one night. The bedroom and bathroom was really good as well, with small surprises. And not to forget the bar, it’s a must. I would definitely try the bistro next time. Breakfast was lovely as well. Definitely worth a stay if you visit Berlin.

This large hotel is located in the heart of Berlin, just a 3-minute walk from Berlin Main Station. The Hotel AMANO Grand Central offers free WiFi as well as a green rooftop terrace and a stylish bar. The modern rooms at the AMANO Grand Central Berlin feature a modern and purist design. All rooms include air conditioning, soundproof windows, hardwood floors, a flat-screen TV, safe, mini-bar and a private bathroom. Culinary treats are served in the ground-floor bistro restaurant, and there are also on-site shops, conference facilities and a 24-hour reception. The hotel overlooks the River Spree. The area is popular for cycling and guests can hire bicycles at reception for exploring Berlin. The hotel is only 601 m from the Natural History Museum and 0.9 mi from the Reichstag (parliament) and the Brandenburg Gate. Private parking is available at the Hotel AMANO Grand Central for a daily surcharge. There are direct busses to Tegel Airport (3.7 mi) and direct trains to Schönefeld Airport (14 mi), as well as excellent public transport connections across the German capital.

Location perfect - right beside the East Side Gallery which is cool, and right opposite Ostbanhof which is a super useful train station - can access the airport from it directly in 25 mins, and it makes two of the coolest areas (Friedrichschain & Kreuzberg) both easily accessible by just a couple stops on the S-Bahn. Also probably the closest hotel to Berghain if you're trying to get in (as we successfully did). Ostbanhof is only a stop or two away from Alexanderplatz also, which is right in the centre of Berlin (where a lot of tourists will probably go to). Aside from the amazing location, the hotel is just brilliant. Very modern with super warm & friendly atmosphere, with a lobby you could hang about in if you wanted (cafe, seating area, TV etc), easy check-in. Seems to be a pretty brand new hotel also. Rooms are modern and immaculate. Great showers etc. Mix of different ages staying there. Overall just great, would advise to stay here.

Schulz Hotel Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery

This hotel is located directly next the East Side Gallery in the cool Friedrichshain district of Berlin. Newly opened in August 2018, the hotel features free WiFi and a beer garden directly at the Berlin Wall. Rooms at Schulz Hotel Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery are individually and functionally furnished. All rooms offer free WiFi, a Smart TV and a design bathroom with shower and complimentary toiletries. The Bakery offers fresh muesli, toasted panini and couscous salad, not to mention great coffee. A nice range of beers and cocktails are available at the bar, while barbecues and craft beers can be enjoyed in the beer garden. Other facilities for guests at Schulz Hotel Berlin Wall include a guest kitchen, a laundry salon and a 328 ft² youth lounge with table football, bean bags, a cinema screen and music system. Nearby Ostbahnhof train station offers excellent public transport connections to all parts of Berlin, including Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, Berlin Main Station, the Messe Berlin Trade Fair, Tegel Airport and Schönefeld Airport.
