I could write a few pages about Villa Modara. The hosts and employee are simply lovely, generous, friendly, interesting and welcoming. The location was perfect; close to a bird sanctuary that I didn’t visited as there was plenty of birds and wildlife around the property (sunrise and sunset was overwhelming with bird singing and seeing). Also close to a secluded beach with very few tourists if none. The guesthouse it self is so beautiful; architecture and decor. Paradisio!

Wonderful stay in an old historic building. The room was very spacious and clean. Set back from the main street, it was very quiet. Easy walk to the beach. The spa is heavenly!

We couldn't ask for more. The place is fantastic with great facilities, beach 1 minute walking, pool, great food and more. The installations are clean and pristine, decorated with very good taste. The staff was awesome, very friendly, professional and efficient and that is a priceless asset. The way that ALL the staff performed their duties exceed anything I we were expecting. For example, we planned to go to the World Heritage Sigiriya and was necessary to leave the facilities at 04:00am in order to get there around 09:00 but that meant to miss the breakfast on that day. As soon as our plans were known, Mishara, a staff member, organized the preparation of two breakfast packs to be ready for us in the morning to take on the journey. Pro-activity and a job well done at its best. A word of appreciation for a great job as well for Chaminda at the reception and to Numesh and Sanjeewa and for all the great people with no exception working there. A big thanks very much.

Lovely room with balcony, two swimming pools with plenty of sunbeds and a pool bar with waiter service, great restaurant food. Access to the beach. This resort-style hotel is neither too big, nor too small. Stayed here for 5 days and loved it. Good location for shops and restaurants. Good Security and excellent cleanliness in all areas. Abundant friendly and helpful staff.

Beautiful hotel with everything you could need but so much more. The hidden genius of the hotel is actually the owner, Milinda. Quiet, unassuming, polite. I must say, I was quite a demanding guest but Milinda was always on hand ready to help and go way beyond the call of duty. With a host like this, you can’t go wrong. Book, you won’t regret it :)

The Villa is about 10 minute walk to the beach but completely away from the hustle and bustle of Hikkadua. It is an oasis of tranquility. Accommodation is excellent. The pool area superb. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were so polite and helpful .

This is honestly such a fantastic place. You have the benefit of walking to the sea within 10 minutes or simply making use of the swimming pool on your doorstep which is kept exceptionally clean. The gardens of Kurumba are beautiful, attracting lots of wildlife to create a serene setting. The beds were very comfy and the accomodation is very spacious with all you’d need. The breakfasts were delicious too. Above all the staff were so attentive and friendly, always willing to go that little bit further to ensure you have everything you need. Thank you to all the staff at Kurumba Villas!
